Speakers & Workshops: Jean Brown

Photo of Jean Brown

Join us July 14, 2008 for teacher, designer, painter and quilter Jean Brown.
In addition to a wonderful trunk show and quilting stories, Jean will share current trends and news about quilting in America and around the globe.

Jean has designed and made many quilts, some of which she's also made matching oil paintings. Over the years Jean has actively promoted the "Aunt Becky" method of hand quilting — a different way to hand quilt — incorporating it into her own style. Her technique is both comfortable and fast, creating perfect stitches on both sides of the quilt. Jean has taught this technique throughout the country for the past 22 years.

For the Hawaiian quiltmaking part of the class Jean will bring her collection of templates from which participants may choose one to make into a block. She will teach the speedy appliqué stitch she uses to turn corners and make points. Supply list.
